Information we collect

Information you provide

If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address so we can provide early-access and occasional product updates. The waitlist service also records the source of the signup and the version of the signup notice. Please do not submit sensitive personal or horse-health information through the waitlist.

Information collected only if you allow analytics

When Analytics is allowed, our website code sends limited interaction events such as page or scene viewed, navigation selections, waitlist-form views and successful submissions, and media errors. Google Analytics may also collect technical, device, browser, network, approximate-location, cookie, client, session, and consent information according to our Google Analytics property settings and Google’s documentation.

Our website’s custom analytics events do not include your email address, horse information, form text, or other direct contact details. The site code uses a fixed allowlist for those custom event fields. Google Analytics property-level settings and automatically collected events require separate administrator review.

Optional Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 only after you choose to allow Analytics. We use it to understand which parts of the story are useful, measure navigation and waitlist interest, and identify technical media problems. The website code denies advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization. In the Google Analytics property, Google Signals, user-provided data collection, automatic user-provided-data detection, granular location and device collection, Enhanced Measurement, and ads personalization are disabled.

Before you make a choice—and after you reject or withdraw and the page resets—the website does not retain the loaded Google Analytics tag or send our optional analytics events. Your choice is stored in your browser under mhk-v5-analytics-consent. A second browser record, mhk-v5-analytics-consent-record, stores the choice, notice version, and decision time so the site can require a new choice after the notice changes. If you allow Analytics, Google may set identifiers such as _ga and _ga_<container-id>; their duration depends on Google Analytics and the property configuration.

How we use information

• Provide and administer the waitlist and send the updates you requested.
• Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website.
• Measure site use only when you have allowed Analytics.
• Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect the rights and safety of users and MyHorseKeeper.

We do not use the current website analytics implementation to join your waitlist email with Google Analytics activity, and we do not use User-ID, user-provided-data collection, or Measurement Protocol in the website code.

Disclosure and service providers

We disclose information to service providers that help us host the website, operate the waitlist, maintain our systems, and—only with your choice—provide analytics. These providers include Amazon Web Services for site and API infrastructure, our database infrastructure for waitlist storage, and Google LLC for optional analytics.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transaction.

Retention, security, and your choices

We retain waitlist information only as long as reasonably necessary to administer early access and product updates, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect our services. Our Google Analytics property retains event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months, with user retention reset on new activity. Google’s applicable terms also govern its processing. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no Internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

You can reject optional analytics before it loads, reopen Privacy Choices at any time, and withdraw your choice. Withdrawal stops future optional analytics collection from this browser; it does not automatically delete information already collected. You may unsubscribe from product emails using the link in an email or by contacting us.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or limit certain uses. We will evaluate and respond to verified requests as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product and our data practices evolve. We will post the updated policy here and revise the date above. If a change materially affects your choices, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
